Tyler is clever. Not just averagely clever, or even just cleverer than average — she’s genius-IQ clever, and that tends to set her apart.
Her dad wants to give her a new start in a place where — according to science — they have the best chance of being happy. Enter Happyville, and a new school, Happyville High.
Happyville High might seem like the perfect school but anyone looking closely can see there’s something really strange going on. Smiling, fitting in, and being popular are prized over academic achievement, and, though at first it seems Tyler has been propelled into her own personal nightmare, she quickly stumbles upon two fellow geeks in the abandoned school library. They might be too uncool for school, but they’re the only kids with the brains to get to the bottom of what’s happening at Happyville High.
This story has a laugh on every page, as well as being a light-hearted cautionary tale for the Instagram generation and a reminder of the importance of learning and courage.
